Thermal Stability of Cryocooled Ta-Fiber-Reinforced Nb3Sn Composite Wire

The MQE for the cryocooled Ta-fiber-reinforced Nb3Sn composite wire was measured experimentally in various load conditions as the parameter of the temperature, applied magnetic-field, 10 - 14.5 T, and the transport current density. Temperature margin which is the abscissa axis is a difference between the operating temperature and the superconducting to normal transition temperature. It was found that MQE-temperature margin characteristics at each temperature showed a straight line even if loaded conditions varied.
