Jc Enhancement of MgB2 Superconductors Prepared in High Magnetic Fields

強磁場中で作製したMgB2超伝導体のJc向上

The effect of high magnetic fields on the current carrying properties of both MgB2 bulks and Fe-sheathed tapes was investigated following different thermal sequences. It is found that application of a large magnetic field during processing results in the quite uniform microstructure and the better connectivity between the MgB2 grains. As a result, the Jc of these samples has showed much higher value than that of the MgB2 samples in the absence of magnetic field.

MgB2バルクおよび鉄シーステープを強磁場中で作製し,その電流輸送特性を調べた.強磁場印加は組織の均一性とグレイン間の結合を向上させることを見出した.結果として,磁場中で作製した試料のJcはゼロ磁場で作製した試料よりも大幅に高い値を示すことが分かった.
